Sporting Clay Tournament
11th Annual Sporting Clay Tournament
Saturday April 1, 2017
Lubbock Shooting Complex, 1475 County Road 1, Lubbock, TX 79423
Our 11th Annual Sporting Clay Tournament was held at the Lubbock Shooting Complex on April Fools day, and boy did Mother Nature play a trick on us! In true West Texas fashion, and cold front blew in with temps in the upper 30s and lower 40s with winds in the 25-30 mph range. Marvin brought his smoker and it became the most popular attraction there, not only for the wonderful food but the heat!
Marvin kept hot food and coffee coming and of course, the winds gave a good reason for those missed shots. All in all, everyone had a great time. This year instead of a gift card, we raffled off a Beretta A400 semi-automatic shotgun. There were only 250 tickets available for purchase and was open to anyone with no need to be present to win. The shotgun was won by a lady in Abernathy who purchased 5 tickets. Janetta Villarreal won the shotgun for her husband, Luis. She is pictured above with Ron Chambless, Secretary for South Plains TACCA.
Money raised from the tournament and the raffle will go to help fund our Heat the Town project coming up in October. For more information on Heat the Town, Click Here.
